So baseball has started and consumes quite a bit of our time. But Bub loves it. And I truly do too. I enjoy the baseball atmosphere, watching the games, the spring like weather.
No matter the sport, Bub gives his all. He pitched a couple innings (and I'm always nervous for him when he does that). So much pressure! He hit, stole a base or two. All in all, he had a good game. As did the whole team. Its been fun and interesting to watch him play over the past five years and now see the boys understand the game better and play as a team.
It will be a fun time ...

I also love to see Bub involved in sports. He is learning so much. Not only about the sport but about being a team player and about being a positive role model, a good influence (even when its not their game).
I know that all the boys on the team or at school for that matter, do not have the same background or beliefs as we do. I also know that Bub is at an age where he is going to be exposed to things, mostly not appropriate talk. No, I don't like it but I do like the fact that he is aware and is learning to handle himself and situations.
He has come home from school and told me about a joke that was going around. He also said that it wasn't appropriate so he told the other boy he didn't want to hear it and that he shouldn't be sharing that anyway. I was proud of that.
Little life lesson ...

Little life lesson ...
The past week has been filled with activity ... trips to the dentist, followed by ice cream of course! Then we found ourselves in a little funky clothing store and I was trying on clothes both Bub and Pie were picking out. We laughed and laughed! And by the way, she has a great fashion sense ... him, not so much!
I completed my first 10 mile race! Certainly no marathon, but a big accomplishment in my mind. I can actually say it was fun. I loved pushing myself and the thought of, "I bet I can go farther." That started off the weekend. The rest of the weekend was family, friends, play, movie, church, and snow boarding ... all good.
Despite all the good and fun of this past week, I found myself feeling a bit irritable. And it's been the little things that just bug me. Nothing happened, nobody did anything ... I was just blah! Money, or lack of, chores, truly errands, nothing different from the norm, nut it just got to me. Blah! I guess sometimes that's okay ...
By weeks end I saw these two quote ...
"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens; not by what life brings us but by the attitude we bring to life." .... Author unknown
"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." .... Annie Dillard
To top it off Bub told me to have the "hippy flow." Whats that? Well, it's his philosophy of simply having a relaxed, mellow attitude.
