Love and War ...

These past few days has been nuts, or so it seems. Let's see, we have had basketball, guitar, a violin concert, am runs (I have committed to running a upcoming 10 mile run ... so let the training begin!), an under the weather little girl, work related decisions to make, a mountain of laundry to fold, AND, to top it off, our 15 year anniversary!

I have spent the last two days at home with my sweet girl, who hasn't felt well. She has needed some good old fashion snuggling, as well as some extra rest. The time with her has been sweet.

Yesterday, however, was our 15 year anniversary. Wow! 15 years. On one hand its hard to believe and on the other, I feel like there is no other way it should or would be.
Work, baby girl and home still demanded our attention, but we managed to sneak in some little surprises throughout the day and a nice meal out last night. Pizza, red wine and chocolate cake in at a local little pub style restaurant. It's nice to have some one on one time, have a conversation, laugh, be.

Thinking about our anniversary, marriage and love, I started looking up quotes about love. I picked out 15 that I really liked, copied them onto 15 pieces of aged paper and left them in places I knew my husband would find throughout the day.
It brought back memories of a time when we were first together, getting to know each other, living in different states. We sent letters and packages to one another weekly. They were creative and fun, even goofy. The anticipation of getting one was exciting but writing a letter or putting a package together, trying to do something to completely surprise him, was perhaps even more fun.
We truly got to know each other, now so many years ago, through these letters and packages. It was a truly fun time.

Here are a some quotes on love I found ...

Love sought is good, but given unsought is better.
-William Shakespeare

In dreams and in love there are no impossibilities.
-Janos Arnay

Love is composed of a single soul inhibiting two bodies.
-Aristotle

Love is the beauty of the soul.
-St. Augustine

Although she's been sick, she' been ever so sweet. We have snuggled, talked, read, watched movies. Today she felt a bit better and while watching a movie this morning, she sang and danced her heart out. I enjoyed just watching her.

She simply loves singing, dancing, anything to do with music. She has been making up her own songs ... about Jesus, her God, living in her heart and heaven ... about dreams ... about love ... about being yourself ... about following your heart ...

Now for the war. It was a planned war, with protective gear and bases. It was a walnut war that took place in my parents field.
It was wet and muddy, but it wasn't raining. And the kiddos wanted to have a walnut war ... they basically threw walnut shells at each other!
But it was great to them outside, running around, laughing, getting filthy! What fun!

It's been a fun filled, love filled week.

People who are sensible about love are incapable of it.

At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet.
