Spring break has arrived. And while most families are heading out of our little town (most to find the sunshine), we traveled to the snow. We went a week early and spent four days in the snow ... sledding, skiing, snow ball fights, drinking hot cocoa and of course, sitting in the hot tub!
The journey started with a road trip. Although there were more direct routes to our destination, we chose the roads less traveled. We drove through rural areas and farmlands, orchards and forests. Even took a shortcut that the kiddos were convinced in the middle of nowhere!
We saw, we learned, we laughed, we got antsy. We stopped at In-and-Out. We made it to our little room in the snowy village of Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe.

The view from our room ...

We spent he first day simply goofing off. The weather was dreadful, which really just added to the adventure. We spent the day sledding, having snowball fights and visiting the candy store. By the end of the day we were wet ... no, drenched ... cold and tired!

A couple of random sights that made us laugh.

And despite the sub freezing temperatures and falling snow, the kiddos enjoyed the hot tub. What started off as a way to warm up, quickly turned to even a bigger snow ball fights and making snow angels!

Bub after a long day skiing and boarding .... and of course, room service (one of the kiddos favorite moments!)

Some other highlights, or perhaps memorable moments, included, Pie getting locked in the bathroom and having to call maintenance to open the door. Receiving a complaint from the room below because of the gymnastics going on in our room. Losing one of my snow boarding gloves, and ruining my new Uugs. Yep, I did. Water damage. On one hand I was so disappointed as I where them everywhere, and too spendy to replace. But on the other hand, they are simple a possession. However, after some research found a technique to fix water damaged Uugs.
First - rub down with white wash cloth.
Second - brush with a soft tooth brush.
And third - rub with a clean eraser.
Sounds crazy, yes. But it actually worked. My Uugs look great.

Tons of moments, tons of memories. Some were filled with laughter, others chaos. But they all served a purpose and a beautiful reminder ... no matter what, we enjoy our time together.
