So, our Easter was simple, peaceful, filled with family and thanks. We celebrated our Lord in the best way we could. Church was outdoors (despite the on and off again rain). We sang, learned, rejoiced.
Pie painted a picture of Jesus hands with nail wounds and blood.
From there it was straight to Ama and Pa's for an Easter egg hunt in the field. The kiddos ran around, played games, climbed trees, chased dogs and got dirty.
We ended our day with a feast. The week before Easter our family was together and all contributed to what that feast would be. Somewhat eccentric, certainly not traditional, but it was our feast.
And the hunt was underway ....
Bub really wanted to contribute to our meal by making dessert. He found a recipe for a three-layer chocolate. I bought all the ingredients and Bub spent most of Saturday afternoon baking, everything from scratch. There were moments of wanting to jump in with my advice, input, and just general way I do things. But I held off, unless he asked for help. He did at times. At others, he just figured it out.
The aftermath ....
The finished cake! And it was tastey! He did a wonderful and is excited to get back in the kitchen!
So I must say, when I came back to finish "our Easter post) and somehow deleted half of it!
What can I say .... it was sweet.
Now, life beckons .... Peace
Now, life beckons .... Peace
