This past week has flown by .... it was a combination of Christmas, 40th birthday and 15th anniversary. A surprise. We've talked about it since Christmas, with excitement, with reservation of leaving the kiddos.
And now we are home ....
But last week I spent roaming New York City with the love of my life.
We walked, talked, held hands, laughed. We were tourists, we hung out at coffee houses, stayed out way too late, ate way too much.
It was truly the first time we've been away together. Sure, we've been on plenty of trips, but never alone. Even our honeymoon (taken three years after we got married) was a trip shared with others. And since our kiddos have been born we have never left them ... that's over 10 year! (they did great)
It was truly an awesome .... the city was big, filled with lights and life .... so fun to be a part of.
Our time together was renewing ... simply enjoying one another, remembering what brought us together in the first place.
