The sun setting a bit later, trees starting to bloom, colors making their appearances, the yard starting to to look alive once again.
And the kiddos start heading outdoors to play.
An afternoon to get out of the house, play, goof off and just be. They did ... I love listening to the sounds of giggles and chatter and excitement as they run around and create games. I love watching the smiles. And even being there for the tears as Pie got hit in the head with a basketball. (Bad shot Bub!) I even love to join then in a round of kick the can or around the world.
Reminds me of a recent church service we heard on the fullness of time and the fullness of joy. How our God waits for the perfect moment in time and how we can be full of joy in every moment just knowing the Lord is with us. Despite life's circumstances, knowing that God has our every moment, every breath, we do not need to worry or fear. So I want to enjoy each moment as I can, no matter what we are doing ... even when I return to the mounds of laundry waiting for me!
Even when we weren't outside, we have been playing a lot of games. I love that time. We laugh, learn, strategize. Pie and I have played Monopoly Jr. over and over. She loves counting the number on the dice and then the spaces ... to deciding if she wants to buy the balloon booth or the merry-go-round. And the sweet girl that she is, always wants me not to have to pay when I land on her space because its "more nice to share" She likes things to be fair and is always looking out for others. And she create whole stories to go right along with the game. I do love that about her.
Now Bub and I like to play cards or chess together ... strategize, calculate, plan ahead ... he's a thinker.
Even in the car we play games. There's "Slug Bug" and the alphabet game ... two of our favorites.
I have never truly noticed all the "Bugs" out there until we started playing "Slug Bug." And now I even find myself calling it out when I in the car by myself or out running.
The alphabet game is looking around at signs or license plates and finding the letters of the alphabet in order. Great fun for car trips or even around town. Sometimes we work as a team and others, it's a race. I even find it educational for Pie as she is looking around everywhere we go now for her abc's!
So back inside til tomorrow ....
This was the last sight we saw before heading in .... at least 10 wild turkeys wandering the neighborhood!
