Love and baseball ...

Moments that tell the story of the day ... I love weddings, the emotions, the excitment, the love. Every wedding I work is such a blessing to me. I keep thinking about this sweet couple. Their love for each other, their nervousness, watching them together and capturing the moments for them ... they were simply made for each other and I was grateful to be part of their day.

I mostly shot with natural light as the day was so generous with its beauty. The wedding took place right in town but tucked behind the business we were surrounded with peace, beautiful foilage, blooming flowers and an incredible wrought iron gazebo. Each location lent itself to unique shots that were a perfect match for the bride and groom. Our time together was relaxed and their day joyous.

While I love working with the bride and groom in an artistic, creative environment ... setting up intimate shots in just the right light and location ... I love the moments that are not planned out ... the moments that just happen. My style is very photojournalistic in that way, looking for those moments ... a giggling little flower girl, the brides' shoe with her lucky penny. The story.

Every wedding I shoot is so different, as each couples' relationship is so incredibly unique. I look at the marriages that surround me ... my parents, my in-laws, friends, neighbors and of course my own ... and simply to witness and experience that there is a perfect love, a perfect match for everyone.

And someday I know my own children will find their perfect matches. What a thought! One that freaks me out but one worth praying about daily. But for now they are my babies, my angels ...

I love to watch each of their personalities and interests develop and grow. So incredibly different, yet so much alike.

One of my sons' great interests is sports .... football, basketball, baseball, skiing ... he loves them all.

Right now is baseball season and consumes quite a bit of time. But we try to encourage and support each endeavor around here. He has grown so much over the last few years playing ball, not just physically or as a ball player (although most weekends we find him wanting to practice pitching as he takes what he does quite seriously), but as a team leader, cheering on his teammates, even in the not-so-shiny moments. They have won and they have lost, but he can usually find the good in each game. And I'm always proud of that.

So at least twice a week I find myself sitting in the bleachers cheering him on ... as I do do enjoy healthy competition!
