So we got to have a quick little get-a-way to the city last weekend. Just the four of us ... so nice. It was great to be in the mix of such culture ... something we lack in our small town. We roamed, we ate, we watched, we ice skated and we spent most of the time at a comic book convention! Yes, my family (and I'm learning) are devoted comic book fans and readers. They know artists and writers of their favorites and couldn't wait to get original art work done, go to lectures by the artists and of course, get some books. Honestly I thought I'd go shopping :) But I spent the time with my family doing what they wanted to do. And it was great! It was kind of strange, a whole culture of its own, but it was also fascinating. The artists were incredibly talented and artwork was amazing.
Here are a few pics of our time ...
Getting artwork from a fav ... After they each got theirs, Pie drew him a picture back of the same character and gave it to him the following day ...
A stature of Martin Luther King and a girl holding onto him ... yet someone had placed this slice of pizza in the little girl's hand.
I found this hilarious ... Bub took a seat while we were roaming some shops and I simply found this to funny to pass on a picture!
Bub and Pie both acted like they had never seen a mannequin before. (They must be country bumpkins!) So we decided to pose with different mannequins ...
And just a few fun photos I took and edited with my phone ... sometimes its the only thing I have with me.
I am grateful for these times I have with my family ...
