Odds and ends

Wow ... It's been a while. Life gets busy, demanding and while each event in it of itself is great, the moments of being pulled in several directions can overwhelm me! And lately at the end of the day ... I'm tired. A good tired, but tired none-the-less.
For many of years I have been a night owl, staying up way to late, working, once the household is tucked into bed for the night. These days sometimes I struggle for time. Life at home (simply keeping up with chores), kiddo activities (school, sports, music), and work. There are so many things I want to do, accomplish, be a part of ... yet so little time.
A verse keeps coming to mind about pouring yourself into each moment, giving your all, and being content with what is. So if life is busy, and it is for most, enjoy the the time, whether work or play. It's a simple recipe for joyful living.
There are seasons I find myself in our so-called "hippy flow" life. And others where I stress, worry so easily. I admire those in my life that live so free of worry even in adversity. They are so graceful. I strive ...
Life with a puppy is never boring! He is sweet, cuddly and has such soft eyes. We love him. He has endless energy, loves to escape through the front door and eat what ever we leave laying out. He drives me crazy! Tucker has eaten through our carpet, the coffee table corners, numerous shoes, socks, toys and even the book of Colossians! Yep .... right out of my Bible!
But he's ours, we love him ....
Especially at night when he follows the kiddos to bed, jumps right in and buries himself right under the covers. He cuddles ....
Tuck adds such life to the mix!

Bub's new interest as of late has been baking. He loves to bake .... find a recipe, get out all the ingredients and simply bake, sometimes following the recipe to the 't', sometimes adding his own twists. It's really awesome to watch him find these new interests and explore.
He made pudding last night and served us dessert. And he's planning something special for our Easter celebration.

(practicing the saxophone ....)

Baseball is in full swing. and now not only is Bub playing, my Pie has decided to give it a go. This is the first time we are at her practice, then off to his game .... or .... we separate and we each go to a game when the overlap.
I so admire families with several kiddos.

Bub has hit the majors this year, much bigger boys and highly competitive. He may be small ... but he's got speed, strength and a drive to do his best.

Pie is in tee-ball. I think she likes it. She has fun, but certainly doesn't like any focused attention on her .... coming up to bat and all eyes on her .... Oh well, it is a good experience. She (so far) seems to be so much more an individual and is so happy playing the piano, drawing, painting, anything artistic.

Each of their personalities are so different, so unique ... as we all are. We each have unique gifts God has given us, where we are natural, peaceful.

Off to enjoy the afternoon sunshine ... before the rain falls once again! got to love the Pacific Northwest :)
