Monday morning ... and off to a running start! So I got the kiddos off to school and was planning to get some things done at the new studio, grocery shop, and run a few errands before Pie was done at school. Great plan ... my plan ... Instead as I was leaving Pie's school, my phone rang and it was Bub. He NEVER calls me during a school day. But this morning he did. And he wanted me to come hang out in his class and watch science presentations. His was coming up.
Yeah, but my plans .... the studio ... my, my, my ... I headed over to his class. No other parents were there and his teacher (my friend) told me he asked if he could call me. She thought it was sweet, so there you have it. I watched 5th grade science presentations! Bub did a great job and for some reason he really wanted me there. And I am not complaining, it warmed my heart!
Ok, I left Bub's class .... onto my plans! Well, no. I ran to the grocery store, nearly ran the aisles, filled up the cart. And it was then I looked at the clock, saw the time and realized I was late to pick up Pie. Long lines .... no time .... I ditched my cart! So we are still out of just about everything. And coffee!
Got Pie .... thought we'd go tot he store, the studio, and .... and .... she didn't feel that well. Homeward bound.
Left to pick up bub. Got him. Went home only to find out he forgot his homework. back to school. back home. No groceries. No studio. No errands.
But we all had a good laugh ...
And the my, my, my mentality had to be rechecked. No, I didn't do anything I intended to do. I did even more ... more important things.
Sometimes our plans, although they may sound great in the moment, there are even better things .... people, relationships, life, love.
