It's late and the house is quiet. Although the day started early ... with a run at daybreak with a friend ... it's nice to savor the peace, reflect on the day, the week. With the kiddos and husband fast asleep .... sometimes a quiet moment is needed, despite the time.
We've had so much going on as of late ... everything from school and baseball (both of which are coming to an end here shortly) to work and several gatherings of friends and family. Not to mention the daily chores.
The kiddos like to help out with the chores ... feeding the animals (a dog, a cat and a lizard. Yes, my son has a bearded dragon, which funnily or sadly enough I find myself talking to quite a bit!), watering the garden, helping set the table, even starting laundry and folding. Granted, a trail of dog food usually runs from the pantry to her feeding bowl, the garden usually ends up the target of "how hard can I" water blast, and pairs of socks don't always match, I wouldn't trade in their help for the world. They concentrate, try and learn ... can't ask for much else.
I'm looking forward to long summer days, playing in the sand, riding bikes, hiking, going to the beach. He already has his summer reading picked out ...
I have had quite a load of work this past week, editing, shooting and even a bit of teaching. I am so blessed to run my business from my home ... I can edit on and off throughout the day, set up my studio in the living room and even have my three year old answer the phone saying "Fofography." But it can certainly add to the chaos as well.
Recently I started dabbling in other areas of photography, a little more behind the scenes. I have truly learned a lot about myself, my strengths, my passions. I love working with my clients, picking locations, setting up shots, all in an effort to capture their personalities, their relationships, their moments.
This past week has held an eclectic variety of events to say the least. There's never a dull moment ...
