I love the ocean ... the power, the peace. I always find my time there both calming and rejuvenating ... I love simply walking along the beach, listening to the pounding waves crash against the shore, taking in the fresh sea air. It's always a time for our family to just be together, enjoying one another.
So we were off again to spend a couple of days at the coast with the kiddos ... out running waves, building sand castles, walking, climbing, exploring. They could spend endless hours playing ... and I could spend endless hours watching them. I did.
My son has recently found a fascination with boogie boarding. So, with wet suit on and board in hand, the waves were his ... and he loved every moment. He and his dad spent most of the first day riding waves together. Watching them together, listening to them laugh ... always brings a smile to my heart.
My sweet girl and I spent time gathering shells for the princess sand castle we built. We built the princess castle in the middle, with surrounding smaller castles all around it for the rest of the village. She took it very seriously and created a whole story to go along with the castle. Her imagination is endless ...
Later, we swapped .... while dad and daughter continued the castle building, I (with rented wet suit on) tried my hand at boarding. Not sure if it ever did click and I felt like I drank a gallon on salt water, but the time laughing and goofing off with my son was awesome.

I love having one-on-one time with each of them. They are each such neat people, with interesting thoughts and ideas (yes, even the three year old). It's such a blessing to talk with them, laugh with them and listen to what's on their hearts.
Time with my family ... what a treat ...
